Promotion Specialist - What the heck is that?

So a lot of people often ask me what I do for work and I tell them that I'm a Promotion Specialist for ABC30 in Fresno, CA. Then they kind of tilt their head in a kind of "wha..?" way. The simple explanation is that I shoot and edit commercials for the station. But when people think of "commercials" they think of the normal, annoying commercials that advertise your local plumber. So not the case with what I do!

My department is solely focused on "station image". Station image is simply making the TV station look good! Anything that has to do with promoting the station or any type of graphics that are on the screen, we create. It's a lot of work and often isn't something you think of when you watch the news or anything that promotes the station but without it, no one would know what the TV station was doing.

I love what I do and I love the challenges that I'm faced with everyday. I get to use equipment and software that I normally wouldn't be able to get a hold of, so I'm learning everyday!
